4×15-inch infinite baffle
Four 15-inch drivers, a very large rear volume and a wall-integrated subwoofer system.
The concept
The home-cinema wall uses four GRS 15PF-8 drivers as an infinite-baffle array. The adjacent rear space of roughly 32,000 litres acts as the back volume, avoiding a conventional subwoofer enclosure in the cinema room.
Build and amplification
The project was built into the wall opening and is driven by a Behringer NX1000D. The German build report contains the complete photo sequence and construction notes. This English page provides the project overview while preserving the real project photographs.
What it taught us
The IB delivers very deep extension, but perceived impact and level at the seats also depend on room geometry, listening distance and modal behaviour. That experience led to the separate high-output 4×12-inch bass-reflex planning project.
